Congratulations to the winners of our 2009 Holiday decoration contest! Three judges went around on December 4th during the holiday celebration and checked out all the festive decorations each entrant put up. Businesses were judged on quality, quantity, creativity and how well the decorations went with the theme of the business.
1st Place: Another Chance Animal Welfare League
2nd Place: Cameo Massage
3rd Place: Palo Cedro Eye Clinic
Thanks to all the participants for their hard work decorating their businesses! It brings warmth into your business to show you care enough about the season to decorate. The judges enjoyed looking at everyone’s entries, and they look forward to more entries next year!

I just finished installing a few Holiday themes. The total themes available is 159! If you need help activating a theme on your blog, contact me and I will be most glad to help you!
I really love changing the themes on my own blog site, and I hope it’s refreshing for users on the Chamber’s site see something new now and then. I was taught that consistency is key when designing a corporate website. That was years ago. More and more, I see that wordpress has really become popular, and changing themes with the seasons is not uncommon either. I am always open to your comments, and would love to hear what folks think of the whole blog thing here at the Chamber’s website.
Hope y’all have a great holiday season, and best wishes for a prosperous new year!

As the 2009 Chamber board of directors comes to a close, I want to thank every Chamber participant from elected officials and directors, to the committees that worked so hard to continue the success of this Chamber. It would not be possible without your continued support. I want to personally thank all of the local business members and volunteers for their time and ideas, it is extremely important for our Chamber’s growth to open those doors.
Chamber involvement and community support is what drives where we are going tomorrow. Remember the main purpose of the Chamber is to help new and existing businesses succeed. Please do not hesitate to voice your opinions and come join us in 2010 at the public board meetings. Get involved, businesses who invest in the Chamber demonstrate their commitment to strengthen the community!

I am looking forward to providing a demonstration seminar in the near future. I’d like to help folks understand the possibilities with their blog page, as well as how easy it can be. It’s a good way to mention your specials or what’s going on in your store, etc. You can also upload images (or coupons) to be displayed on your page for your own customers to use.
Look for updates on the development of this modern endeavor in the Site Development News under The Board’s Blog Category.
