The Palo Cedro Chamber of Commerce postponed its Show N Shine car show until Tuesday, April 13, 2010 due to the heavy rain and chilly winds forecast for Monday afternoon.  It turned out to be a good choice indeed.

The weather on Tuesday proved to be warm and only partly cloudy, and by 3:30 p.m. the parking lot at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel was filled to overflowing with colorful, shiny restored automobiles vying for the 28 beautiful trophies donated by Palo Cedro merchants.

Live Music for the event was provided by the band “North Beat” that played everything from old time rock and roll to soft rock to country western.  Band members are Dave Baza– Drums/Vocals, Ed Goforth-Lead Guitar/Vocals, Ivan Sager-Keyboard-Percussion/Vocals, Willie Kong-Bass Guitar/Vocals, Chuck Wadowski-Rhythm Guitar/Vocals, and Bruce Ramsour-Sound Engineer/Percussion.

Grandma’s Favorite BBQ brought over their smoked pulled pork and sauce to go with the beans and coleslaw provided by the chamber for dinner and two youth groups—Chrysalis School’s eighth grade class and Redding Extreme AAU Basketball held bake sales to furnish dessert.  Redding Christian High School students operated a popcorn stand to raise money for their senior trip to the Virgin Islands.
